UPDATE: Victim in fatal Bath Co. crash identified
MOREHEAD, Ky. (WTVQ) – Kentucky State Police have identified the victim in a crash on I-64 in Bath Co. that killed one man and sent two others to the hospital.
According to troopers, the victim in the collision was Michael A. Betty, 33, of Lexington. Officers say the car he was driving was rear-ended by a Freightliner driven by Stevie D. Davis, 56, of Maryville, TN. Investigators say both vehicles were traveling west on I-64 when the collision occurred. Beatty’s passenger, 31-year-old Michael B. Taylor, of Lexington, was airlifted to the University of Kentucky. He is reported to be in critical but stable condition.
The driver of the tractor trailer was transported to St. Claire Regional Medical Center in Morehead, where he was being treated for non-life threatening injuries.
Beatty was pronounced dead at the scene by the Bath County Coroner.
