UPDATE: Victim of crash near Toyota plant identified
GEORGETOWN, Ky. (WTVQ) – The Scott County Coroner’s Office has released the name of a man killed in an early-morning accident in front of the Toyota plant in Georgetown.
The coroner says 46-year-old Michael Fonner was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash that happened Friday around 7:10 a.m.
According to Georgetown Police, Fonner was driving a pickup on Cherry Blossom Way when a tractor trailer going the opposite direction turned in front of him to go into the Toyota parking lot and the vehicles collided.
The coroner says Fonner had to be cut from his pickup.
He was not wearing a seat belt.
According to the coroner, Fonner was a father of two from Pike County who worked at Aichi Forge USA, Inc in Georgetown.
No charges have been filed in connection to the accident.
