UPDATE: Two restaurants reopen following immigration raid
NICHOLASVILLE, Ky. (WTVQ) – Two of three restaurants in Nicholasville that abruptly closed Tuesday following a raid by immigration authorities have reopened.
Los Dos Amigos and El Potrillo opened for business again on Thursday.
The two restaurants closed after U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) officials showed up at Fiesta Mexico looking for a specific person who was wanted. Authorities detained five other people who were reportedly undocumented immigrants.
The raid caused concern in the Hispanic community in Nicholasville. A rally was held Wednesday night in the city to voice concern and show support for members of the community.
No word yet on when Fiesta Mexico is expected to reopen.
