LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) – A third person has been arrested and charged in connection to a violent kidnapping and assault in Lexington that police say was apparently drug-related.
Investigators say 36-year old John “Porky” Cooper was arrested Thursday afternoon. He was charged with kidnapping and robbery, according to police. Cooper is scheduled to appear in court Friday.
On Wednesday, 21-year old Zachary Costin and 20-year old Ethan Hatfield were arrested and charged with kidnapping, robbery and assault, according to investigators.
Both Costin and Hatfield had court appearances in Fayette District Court on Thursday where they both pleaded not guilty to all charges.
Police say the three men kidnapped a 22-year old man, whose name wasn’t released, on February 28, 2017.
Court documents obtained by ABC 36 News say the suspects took the man to Hatfield’s home in an exclusive, gated community on McAtee Lane in Lexington, beat him with a gun and hammer for two hours, robbed him of his wallet, phone and watch, threatened his life and the life of his family and took his clothes, releasing him naked.
