UPDATE: Suspect in theft of donation boxes arrested

VERSAILLES, Ky. (WTVQ) – Versailles police say they have made an arrest in the theft of three donation boxes at a business.

Two men wearing blue masks and one in a University of Kentucky hoodie, broke into the ACE Hardware store on North Main Street in Versailles on Monday morning.

Police say they stole the donation boxes for Cops for Kids, Woodford Humane Society and the Children’s Miracle Network.

On Wednesday afternoon, police took 22-year-old Jeremy Walton into custody and charged him with burglary and tampering with physical evidence in connection to the case.

Versailles police say a second arrest in the case is pending.
