UPDATE: Road remains closed after gas leak in Lancaster
LANCASTER, Ky. (WTVQ) – A road remained closed in Lancaster Wednesday night following a natural gas leak earlier in the day that led to evacuations and road closures.
Emergency Management says the leak has been stopped, but Hamilton Avenue will remain closed all night from Richmond Street to Cowden Court.
People who live in the Cowden subdivision have to use Buckeye Street to enter Hamilton Avenue.
Officials say the leak was caused by a construction crew that hit a natural gas line. No injuries were reported.
KY 52E/Richmond Street was initially closed from Campbell to Hamilton Avenue and the area evacuated.
