UPDATE: Reward Offered After Dog Was Chemically Burned

A dog who investigators said was abused and burned with chemicals will undergo surgery next week.

The pit-bull mix puppy named Felicity was rescued by the Lexington Humane Society.

Investigators said someone had used a chemical to burn a curse word in Felicity’s side.

Animal control officers said that they found her abandoned and chained to a fence.

The humane society said that once Felicity had healed, staff hoped that she would be available to adopt.

A post on the shelter’s website said, "Unfortunately, there have been no new leads in LFACC’s investigation. In an effort to encourage those who may know what happened to poor Felicity, and thanks to several individuals who have offered to support a reward, LHS is offering a $1,000 reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of Felicity’s abusers."
