UPDATE: Principal says student arrested after reportedly bringing gun to school
Below is the letter in its entirety.
Dear Bryan Station High School Families:
We had a great day at Bryan Station High School today! Our students and staff have kept a focus on learning and not allowed the events of Wednesday to become a distraction. I am so proud of the way our Defender family pulled together to take care of students and ensure everyone is safe!
I wanted to follow up to let you know that one of our students has been charged with possession of a weapon on school property and been referred to the court system. He is also facing serious disciplinary consequences through the school district.
Many thanks to the Fayette County Public Schools Division of Law Enforcement and Lexington Metro Police for their quick assistance and support yesterday and any time we need them. They are excellent partners for us.
As always, please do not hesitate to call me with questions or concerns at 859-381-3308.
Sincerely,
Mike Henderson, principal
