UPDATE: Prayer service disrupted by firecrackers

LAWRENCEBURG, Ky. (WTVQ) – A crowd of about 40 people who had gathered for a community prayer service in Lawrenceburg Monday evening were startled when investigators say two men threw firecrackers near the group, according to a report in the Anderson News.

The newspaper reports that 20-year old Cameron Allen Mayberry and 21-year old William Richardson, both of Lawrenceburg, were each charged with Disorderly Conduct after being chased down by officers at the event.

The Dallas and Michigan shootings and the deaths of two men at the hands of police in Louisiana and Minnesota were all on the minds of the people who came out for the community prayer at the courthouse on Main Street. The people there said we don’t need to live in an atmosphere of violence or fear.

“Fear is from the enemy and that is exactly how he would want us to live, in fear of each other, in fear of all different kinds of things. And as a child of God, you don’t have to live in fear. God did not give us a spirit of fear, but the power of love and a sound mind,” said Associate Pastor Michelle Redmon.
