UPDATE: One of two escapees found in Elliott County
SANDY HOOK, Ky. (WTVQ) – One of two inmates who escaped from trash pickup detail in Johnson County March 22, 2018, was captured in his home county Tuesday, according to State Police.
Investigators say they received information of a possible location for 24-year old Brian Olson, of Sandy Hook, in Elliott County.
Acting on that information, State Police say they found Olson on B Ison Road in Elliott County. Investigators say they found him running through the woods behind a home where he was taken back into custody. He was returned to the Big Sandy Regional Detention Center.
State Police say they searched the same area for the other escapee, 30-year old Jeremy Boggs, of Sandy Hook, but did not find him. He remains on the run.
Investigators say the two inmates were signed out of the jail on the morning of March 22 to pick up litter on Kentucky 201 near Sitka. Investigators believe the two men were picked up by an accomplice after separating themselves from the trash detail.
Jeremy Boggs is 5’9,” 165-pounds with brown hair, hazel eyes and a fair complexion.
Anyone with information about Boggs’ whereabouts is asked to contact Kentucky State Police toll-free at 1-800-222-5555.
