UPDATE: Nurses return home after providing hurricane relief in Florida
FRANKFORT, Ky. (WTVQ) – A group of nurses from Franklin County, Northern Kentucky and Louisville received a police escort upon their return home Friday in Frankfort after a week in Florida helping hurricane victims.
The strike team worked in the Orlando and Naples area. The Florida Department for Public Health dubbed the team the “Kentucky Angels.”
The team consisted of ten nurses and two administrative staff.
This was the first time a team such as this from Kentucky was requested to help following a disaster in another state.
