UPDATE: Murder charges in Clay Co. fatal traffic accident

LONDON, Ky. (WTVQ) – Kentucky State Police have charged a man with multiple counts of murder after a traffic collision on December 18 that killed 4, including a woman who was 8-months pregnant, in Clay County.

According to troopers, 40-year-old Jason Gibson was traveling westbound on the Hal Rogers Parkway when he crossed the center line and hit a car head-on.  Judy A. Pennington-Adams was declared dead at the scene, along with two passengers, Charlene L. Lewis, and Tiffany A. Williams.  Williams’ 2-year-old son was flown to the University of Kentucky Medical Center where he later died from his injuries.  Williams’ unborn child also died.

Jason Gibson was also taken to UK Medical Center where he was treated, released, and arrested.

On Thursday, December 24, Troopers charged Gibson with 4 counts of murder, 1 count of fetal homicide, 5 counts of wanton endangerment, operating a motor vehicle under the influence of drugs, possession of a controlled substance, and reckless driving. He was taken to the Clay County Detention Center.
