UPDATE: Man killed in trench collapse identified
RICHMOND, Ky. (WTVQ) – The Madison County Coroner has identified a construction worker who was killed in a trench collapse Monday morning.
The coroner says 38-year old Loren Richmond, of Richmond, died at the scene after being buried an estimated 20-feet underground.
It happened just after 11:00 a.m. at a construction site where a retail store is being built on Caperton Drive.
It took crews four hours to remove Richmond’s body. It was taken to the State Medical Examiner’s Office in Frankfort for an autopsy to determine the cause and manner of death.
Richmond Police and the Occupational Safety and Health Administration are investigating.
