UPDATE: LPD releases additional details in La Salle Rd. shooting

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) -Officers in Lexington have released new details about a shooting that happened Tuesday on La Salle Road in Lexington.

According to officers, they were called to the 1500 block of La Salle Road at about 2:10 p.m. on a report of gunfire with two injured people.  When they arrived, officers say they found one man with life-threatening injuries.  He was taken to UK hospital.

Officers say they believe several people were involved in some kind of altercation when the shooting occurred.  Police say a black Dodge Magnum and a white vehicle were seen fleeing the area.  As officers were responding to the shooting, they received another call about shots being fired at Russell Cave and New Circle Road.  Investigators say the suspects fleeing the scene at La Salle Road were involved in the second call, but couldn’t be found when police got there.

Police say shortly thereafter, a second man who had been shot at La Salle Road showed up at UK hospital, driving the black Dodge Magnum.  Charges are anticipated.
