UPDATE: Lexington’s Government Center to reopen Wednesday

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) – The power is back on at the Government Center in Lexington, and they will reopen at 8 a.m. Wednesday. The power outage was a result of an electrical fire Sunday night in the adjoining parking garage. Officials say the area will take some time to heat up.

As a result of the fire, the center was closed Monday and Tuesday. Firefighters say there was minor smoke damage. Many city employees who work in the building were told not to come to work, while essential personnel were temporarily relocated to other city buildings.
