The Lexington Parking Authority said its recent ‘Food for Fines’ program was a big success and had exceeded expectations.

People were allowed to donate canned goods to pay parking meter fines from November 17 to December 19.

The donated items will go to God’s Pantry Food Bank.

It was the first program of its kind in Lexington.
