UPDATE: Lexington Police search for suspects in apartment complex shooting

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) – Lexington Police say they are searching for at least two suspects from a shooting that sent an underage victim to the emergency room.

Officers say a 16-year-old victim was taken to UK Hospital after he was shot in the stomach and buttocks around 11:15 p.m. Sunday.  They say the shooting happened behind buildings six and seven at the Continental Square Apartment Complex on Continental Drive.

Police say the victim was found across the street in the parking lot of Spencerian College and that he was not being cooperative.

They say the suspects were seen leaving in a white, newer model vehicle.  If caught, at a minimum, they will be facing assault and destruction of property charges. Police say they ran into at least two vehicles when they were fleeing the scene.

The management for Continental Square Apartments said they did not have a comment on Sunday night’s events.

If you have any information, you are asked to contact Lexington Police at (859)258-3600.
