Update: Lex Police Looking for Suspect in Friday Night Shooting

Lexington Police say they’re looking for a Wendell Dixon in relation to a shooting Friday night at the Swahili Elks Lodge in Lexington.

Police say Dixon was last seen leaving the lodge in a white SUV, but investigators say he left the vehicle at a relatives house on Silver Maple Place.

Police say they were looking for Dixon, who they believe to be on foot, in the downtown Lexington area.

Investigators say they were called to the Swahili Elks Lodge on Versailles Road a little after 8pm Friday.

Authorities say witnesses saw the suspect walk into the lodge, get into an argument with the victim, and then shoot the woman as she tried to leave the lodge.

Police say the victim is in critical condition.

Her name has not been released yet.

Police say Dixon and the victim were in a relationship at one time.
