UPDATE: Leak Sealed On Gas Line At Fayette Mall
Lexington Police said that a gas line leak at Fayette Mall had been clamped.
Police said construction crews working on the demolition of the old Sears store Saturday hit the line just before noon.
Columbia Gas was called in to repair the leak.
Some entrances to the mall were blocked as firefighters worked to figure out what had happened.
But the mall said it did not evacuate customers because of the leak.
Traffic on Nicholasville Road was backed up during the repairs.
Police expected it to get back to its regular flow as crews wrapped up the work.
