UPDATE: Juvenile charged in gas station robberies in Lexington

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) – Lexington Police say a teenager is behind a string of gas station robberies last month in Lexington.

The announcement comes almost three weeks after police sent out surveillance video of a robbery at the Circle K on West Main Street on November 26.

Police say the suspect in that robbery is a 16-year-old.

They say two days later, he robbed the Thornton’s on Winchester Road and the Super America on Tates Creek and Malabu, and attempted to rob the Speedway on Richmond Road.

Each of those robberies happened less than an hour apart.

The teen is charged with three counts of robbery and one count of attempted robbery.

Police say he was already in custody at the Fayette Regional Juvenile Detention Center on unrelated charges.
