UPDATE: I-75 reopens in Rockcastle County; 2nd victim identified
MOUNT VERNON, Ky. (WTVQ) – State Police say all southbound lanes of Interstate 75 in northern Rockcastle County reopened late Tuesday night after being closed for nearly 12-hours following a seven-vehicle crash that left two people dead.
Investigators say six 18-wheelers and a passenger car were involved in the crash that happened just before 1:00 p.m. EDT around mile marker 71. State Police say the driver of the passenger car, who was pronounced dead at the scene, was 34-year old Jonathan D. Roark of Barbourville.
Investigators say the driver of a FedEx Ground vehicle, who was also pronounced dead at the scene, was 41-year old Toby Caudill of Glenford, Ohio. State Police say the cause of the accident is still under investigation.
