UPDATE: Husband Takes Plea Deal In Wife’s Murder
Officials said Timothy Branson entered an Alford plea in the murder of his wife, Modena Branson in 2012.
An Alford plea means Branson didn’t admit that he was guilty, but acknowledged there might have been enough evidence for a conviction.
Police said Modena, 50, was found shot to death in the couple’s home in March 2012.
As part of the plea deal, the charge against Branson was reduced from murder to manslaughter, according to court officials.
The recommended sentence was 15-years for manslaughter and 5-years for wanton endangerment, according to court officials.
Sentencing was scheduled for August 5, 2014.
