UPDATE: New details in Laurel County double shooting

LONDON, Ky. (WTVQ) – The Laurel County Sheriff’s Office has identified two men who deputies say were shot Thursday morning. It says 57-year-old Ralph T. Boggs and 57-year-old Garrett Turner,  both of London, were taken to U.K. Hospital in Lexington in serious condition.

Deputies accuse 28-year-old Landon Collins of shooting the men. They say he was in his ex-girlfriend’s trailer on Locust Grove Road when her father (Boggs) and Turner showed up. The sheriff’s office says there was an altercation that ended with both men shot.

Deputies say Boggs was shot in the head, and Turner was shot in the stomach. The sheriff’s office says a 9mm pistol was found in the front yard. It says after the shooting, Collins waited by the road for deputies to arrive.

Collins has been charged with 2 counts of criminal attempt to commit murder, possession of a handgun by a convicted felon, and one count of receiving stolen property.

The sheriff’s office says a Lexus that had been reported stolen was found in front of the home. They say 37-year-old Richard Bowling of Lexington later turned himself in. He’s charged with receiving stolen property. Deputies say Bowling was also wanted on felony theft charges in Indiana.
