UPDATE: Coroner identifies woman hit and killed on Richmond Road
LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) – The Fayette County Coroner’s Office has identified a woman who was struck by a car on Richmond Road Friday morning and killed.
The coroner says she is 73-year-old Judith Penelope and that she died from blunt force trauma.
According to the coroner, Penelope was attempting to cross Richmond Road just before 6 a.m. when she was hit.
Lexington police say the driver did not see Penelope.
Investigators say she was wearing dark clothing and was not in a crosswalk. There was also dense fog in the area at the time but police have not said whether that may have played a factor.
The driver has not been charged.
