UPDATE: Boil Water Advisory lifted for Leestown Road corridor
LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) – A Boil Water Advisory for Kentucky American Water customers in the Leestown Road corridor in Lexington was lifted Tuesday, November 28, at 8:00 p.m., according to the water company.
Affected customers no longer have to boil water to be used for cooking and drinking.
The advisory was issued yesterday due to a water main break in the area.
The initial advisory impacted a nearby middle and elementary school, numerous businesses, including Amazon, which sent employees home at noon. The VA Medical Center on Leestown Road was also under the advisory, but a contingency plan was immediately put in place and patient care and appointments were not affected, according to the VA.
