UPDATE: Bell County jail escapee captured

KNOX COUNTY, Ky. (WTVQ) – State Police say Bell County jail escapee Jason Carbone had about five hours of freedom before an anonymous tip led authorities to him in Knox County late Monday night. Investigators say the 38-year old Carbone walked away from the ball court area of the Bell County Detention Center just before 7:00 p.m.

State Police say they received a tip that Carbone had reportedly stolen a Bell County School bus and was at a home in the Walker community in Knox County. Investigators say the tip led them right to Carbone and he was arrested without incident just before midnight. KSP says he was taken back to the jail he had escaped from just five hours earlier.
