UPDATE: Arrest made in roof-entry business burglaries

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) – Lexington Police arrested a man Friday and charged him in connection to two business break-ins where the burglar got in through the roof. Investigators say they received a tip identifying a possible suspect, 35-year old William Griffith. He was located and was found to have an active warrant out for his arrest, according to police.

Investigators say Griffith was charged with two counts of Burglary 3rd Degree. Police say Griffith broke-in to a Captain D’s on West New Circle Road on December 4th and a Zaxby’s on West New Circle Road on December 3rd. Police say in each burglary, Griffith got into the restaurant’s through the roof.

Investigators are looking into whether Griffith is responsible for other roof-entry business burglaries in the area. They did say security camera images from Captain D’s and Zaxby’s were helpful in the investigation.

Griffith was lodged in the Fayette County Detention Center.
