Update: Arrest Made In Eastern Kentucky Murder

State Police said on Thursday, Gary W. Ward, 37, of Meally, in Johnson County, was arrested in connection to the murder of Christina Barnett, 34, of Sitka.

Investigators said Barnett’s body was found in Knott County on September 25, 2013.

State Police said Ward was arrested at his residence without incident.

Investigators said Ward was charged with one count each of Murder, Tampering with Physical Evidence and Abuse of a Corpse.

He was lodged in the Kentucky River Regional Jail in Hazard.
