DANVILLE, Ky. (WTVQ)- Danville police say the suspect in a standoff Friday afternoon told dispatchers he had dynamite in his home.

Investigators say 40-year-old Randall Foley called police around 2:15 and claimed to have a hostage. They say he also threatened to use the dynamite if anyone knocked on his door.  Police say the calls came from inside an apartment on Earl Street.

According to investigators, Danville police and the Boyle County Sheriff’s Office set up a perimeter around the home as negotiators spoke with Foley. State police were also at the scene to help.

Investigators say around 8:30p.m., a woman came out of the apartment. They say about 15 minutes later, state police used gas and a K9 team to take Foley into custody.

According to police, Foley is charged with kidnapping and terroristic threatening. They say the woman was not hurt and is cooperating with the investigation.
