UPDATE: Lawrenceburg fined over OSHA violations

LAWRENCEBURG, Ky. (WTVQ)- The City of Lawrenceburg  says it has been fined $4500 by the state’s Occupational Safety and Health Administration, or OSHA. The fines stem from a picture that shows city workers last December using the bucket of a backhoe to hang Christmas decorations.

The city says someone took a picture of the workers and sent it to OSHA. Mayor Robert Goodlet believes the employees were likely trying to save the city money by not renting extra equipment to put up the decorations. But Goodlet says using the bucket of a backhoe is against OSHA standards. He says once the city was warned, workers rented a bucket truck to properly finish hanging the decorations.
