University of Louisville receives $4 million federal grant
WASHINGTON, D.C. (WTVQ) – The University of Louisville received a nearly $4 million federal grant to support its apprenticeship program.
U.S. Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell, of Kentucky, made the announcement Wednesday.
Senator McConnell says the grant comes from the U.S. Department of Labor’s ‘Apprenticeships: Closing the Skills Gap’ program. He says UofL plans to use the funding for its Modern Apprenticeship Pathways to Success (MAPS) program.
Senator McConnell says the MAPS program will use the grant to support apprenticeships by enhancing public-private partnerships with the region’s advanced manufacturing, health care, and information technology industries, among other initiatives.
