Commercial flight makes emergency landing at Blue Grass Airport, everyone safe
LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) – GoJet Airlines flight 4404, operating as United Express, was enroute from Charlotte to Chicago, when it diverted and made a safe emergency landing on Monday night at Blue Grass Airport in Lexington, according to the airline.
The airline says the diversion was made after an indicator message appeared in the cockpit of the CRJ-550, which required the crew land the aircraft.
Emergency crews from the airport and the Lexington Fire Department responded, but were not needed as the aircraft made a safe landing shortly after 7:00 p.m., according to the airport.
The airline says there were 46 passengers onboard. Everyone on the aircraft deplaned safely via the jet bridge, according to the airline. No one was injured, according to GoJet Airlines.
The aircraft remained out of service at Blue Grass Airport on Tuesday pending inspection and maintenance, according to the airline.
In a statement to ABC 36 News, GoJet Airlines said, “Safety is the top priority for GoJet Airlines. We apologize for any inconvenience caused by this situation.”
