Unidentified Package Ends Up Being Shoe Shine

Authorities said an unidentified package on a street in Paris prompted a call to the Lexington Bomb Squad.

Paris Police said a man walking his dog on Main Street around 11:30 p.m. Thursday saw an unattended package in front of a business called Holli’s Housewarming.

The parcel was addressed to the Paris Police Department and was about one block away from the station according to police.

Officers said the man called the police and several emergency crews including the Lexington Bomb Squad responded.

Police said when the package was opened it was shoe shine.

Officers said they treat calls like that as a threat until proven otherwise.
