UPDATE: Arrest in 2015 Clay Co. double murder investigation

MANCHESTER, Ky. (WTVQ) – Kentucky State Police say they have arrested a man in connection to the murder of his father and step-mother after a 9-month investigation.

Troopers say 35-year-old Gregory Jackson has been charged with two counts of murder, burglary, tampering with physical evidence, and theft, among other charges.

The bodies of Leon and Shirley Jackson were found at a home in Clay County back in December of 2015

Kentucky State Police say they are investigating a double homicide in Clay County.

Troopers say the bodies of 64-year-old Leon Jackson and 65-year-old Shirley Jackson were found at a home on Burchell Road in Clay County Wednesday afternoon.

They say both died of apparent gunshot wounds.

The bodies were taken to the State Medical Examiner’s office in Frankfort for an autopsy.

State police say foul play is suspected but no arrests have been made at this time.
