High school softball field named in honor of groundskeeper

DANVILLE, Ky. (WTVQ) – Danville High School’s new softball field has a new name following a surprise dedication during a Monday night school board meeting.

According to Facility Manager Christy Denny, Danny Gadberry, a graduate of Danville High School, has gone above and beyond the call of duty as the athletic groundskeeper.

Gadberry says the athletic fields are his “pride and joy.”

Denny says she can rest easier knowing Gadberry is diligently working to keep the Admiral fields looking battle ready.

Gadberry says he is honored to have the field he worked so hard on named after him.

Denny praises Gadberry’s extensive knowledge of ground keeping, acknowledging the many hours of work he put into the design, construction and completion of the new softball field.
