UKPD issues crime bulletin after two burglary reports

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ)- The University of Kentucky Police Department has issued a crime bulletin to the campus Monday following two complaints they believe could be connected.

They say that in the first incident, a man went into the Gatton Student Center and stole a purse near the dining area, and was seen going through lockers on February 23.

Police say that on the same day, the same man was seen in the Healthy Kentucky Research Building taking several items that were left unsecured.

The suspect is described as 5’6″ to 5’9″, around 170-180 pounds, brown hair, and facial hair.

  • Report any suspicious activities in or around your building to UKPD.
  • Assess your workspace for vulnerabilities. Report any issues to your building manager.
  • Lock all windows and doors while away.
  • Make sure that all lights, door locks, and window locks are in proper working order.
  • Maintain a thorough record of your valuables, to include: photographs, serial numbers, makes and models, etc.
