UK running ‘Donations for Citations’ drive for third year
LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ)–UK Transportation Services (UKTS) is giving students, faculty, and staff, and visitors a chance to waive one regulated parking citation up to $25 if they donate to the Big Blue Pantry.
Individuals can donate 10 nonperishable food items or 5 personal care items to the pantry, which is an on-campus resource that helps UK students who are experiencing food insecurity or need assistance.
This is the third consecutive year that UKTS is holding the Donations for Citations drive.
Transportation Services will accept nonperishable food items and personal care items through Friday, April 6.
Donations will be accepted at the Transportation Services main office located at 721 Press Ave.
Any UK student with a valid student ID will be able to receive items from the Big Blue Pantry.
Acceptable nonperishable food items that can be donated include, but are not limited to pastas, pasta sauce, nuts, crackers, juice, cereal, oatmeal, tuna, canned chicken and granola bars.
Acceptable personal care items include toilet paper, paper towels, laundry detergent, trash bags, shampoo, toothpaste and soap.
UKTS will not accept donations if the items are expired, damaged, open, are perishable, in glass containers, or trial size.
Donations for Citations waivers will only apply to one parking citation that is $25 or less and do not apply to immobilizations, impoundments, parking in fire lanes, ADA accessible parking violations or improper application or use of parking permits.
If you have multiple citations, the rest must be paid normally.
Citations waived through the Donations for Citations program are not eligible for appeal.
