UK receives $339,000 in grants for cardiovascular research

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) – The American Heart Association has awarded five new research grants totaling $399,000 to the University of Kentucky.  The goal of these studies is to aid in the development of new cardiovascular treatments to reduce deaths from heart disease and stroke.

The five individuals receiving the grants are Kenneth Campbell, Leryn Reynolds, Hua Qing, Hye In Jang, and Smita Joshi.  The grants range from $52,000 dollars to over $100,000 dollars.
