UK football signs 11-year-old to its team
LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) – The University of Kentucky football signed the newest – and youngest – member to the team on Wednesday.
He is 11-year-old Luke Klausing of St. Agnes Catholic School in Louisville.
Klausing signed a national letter of intent during a Team IMPACT Signing Day celebration at Kroger Field.
Team IMPACT is a national nonprofit that connects children facing serious and chronic illnesses with local college athletic teams.
Klausing is living with cystic fibrosis, a disease he was diagnosed at five days old.
Some current Wildcats attended the signing ceremony and after the signing, Luke spent time throwing and catching the football with his new teammates.
By being a part of the Kentucky Football program, Luke will attend Wildcats practices, games, team dinners, events and more.
