UPDATE: ‘Erratic’ driver leads to three-vehicle crash: Police

FAYETTE COUNTY, Ky. (WTVQ) – Two people suffered potentially life-threatening injuries Thursday morning in a three-vehicle — two pickup trucks and a passenger car — accident on Versailles Road at the Fayette-Woodford County line.

The road was closed for about four hours while reconstruction crews investigated the accident.

Police said the accident was reported just after 7 a.m. at Versailles Road and the area of Parkers Mill Road.

When Lexington crews arrived, Woodford County Emergency Services already was on the scene and ultimately transported two victims to the hospital with serious injuries.

Jaws of Life crews were sent to the scene at one point, according to scanner dispatch traffic.

Police said witnesses told officers an “erratic” driver clipped one vehicle and over-corrected, crashing into another.

The driver thought to have sparked the crash and the driver of the third vehicle both suffered life-threatening injuries. The driver of the car that was clipped was not injured.
