Two Questioned In Gas Station Robbery

Police quickly picked up two people following an early-morning robbery at a Lexington gas station.

Police said two men walked into the Shell station on Saron Drive around 3:45 a.m. Thursday.

One of the men showed a handgun to the clerk and stole cash from the register.

Police said the two then jumped into a waiting car.

Less than a half-hour later, police tracked down and stopped two men in a car matching the description of the getaway car.

Both were taken in for questioning and police are calling them “persons of interest.”

Officials said one of those men was inside the gas station when the robbery occurred.

Police said they are still searching for the suspect who committed the robbery.
