Two people killed after trailer comes unhitched in Rockcastle County

ROCKCASTLE COUNTY, Ky. (WTVQ)-Two people have died after a three car crash on U.S. Highway 150 in the Mount Vernon community.

Troopers say around 12:30 p.m. Saturday 40-year-old Marty Evans from Mount Vernon was driving westbound, pulling a trailer that disconnected from his pickup’s tow hitch.

It went into the east bound lane where 24-year-old Nathaniel Gilkerson and Gayle Liver, both from Carlisle hit it head-on with their motorcycles.

Gilkerson was wearing his helmet, but he was pronounced dead at the scene.

Liver was flown to UK Medical Center where he’s listed in critical condition.

His passenger, 65-year-old Ann Liver, was wearing a helmet, but was pronounced dead at the scene.
