Two people arrested in connection to carjacking

LEXINGTON, Ky (WTVQ) – Lexington Police have arrested two people in connection with a carjacking.

Tamell Johnson, 23, and Destiny Ivey, 19, were both arrested and charged with Robbery 1st on Thursday.

The carjacking incident occurred Tuesday, October 24, late at night. According to officers, the victim said he had spent the night driving Johnson and Ivey to different location in exchange for gas money.

However, instead of paying the victim, police say the two attacked him and then stole his vehicle.  The victim suffered multiple injuries to his face and upper body. This happened on Versailles Road.

Johnson and Ivey are both being held in the Fayette County Detention Center.
