Two pedestrians hit by SUV in Danville

DANVILLE, Ky. (WTVQ) – Two pedestrians were hit by an SUV Friday night in Danville, sending one victim by medical helicopter to UK Hospital in Lexington, according to Danville Police.

Investigators say the driver of a 2016 Chevy Tahoe hit two pedestrians while turning left from Third Street onto Main Street around 7:35 p.m.

Police say 72-year old Lana Cleveland, of Danville, suffered a severe head injury and was airlifted to Lexington.

Investigators say 70-year old Shan Kihlman, of Danville, was hospitalized at Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center in Danville with non-life threatening injuries.

The driver of the SUV was not hurt, according to police.

The accident is under investigation.
