Two men found shot at car crash scene

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) – Lexington Police say two men were found shot in a car that crashed on Old Todds Road Tuesday night.  It was the third separate shooting in the city in less than 24-hours, leaving a total of four gunshot victims.

Investigators say the most recent shooting happened just before 10: 00 p.m.

Police say witnesses told them people in two cars were shooting at each other in the parking lot of Stoney Brooke Apartments on North Mount Tabor Road.  Investigators say a bullet hit an apartment with two people inside.  An off-duty Lexington Police officer in the area says he heard the gunshots.

Police say shell casings were found in the apartment complex parking lot.

A short time later, a car crashed on Old Todds Road.  That’s where police say they found two men inside the car suffering from gunshot wounds.  Investigators say one of the men, who was shot in the upper body, had life-threatening injuries.  They say the other man, who was shot in the lower part of his body, had what appeared to be non-life threatening injuries.

No names were released.

North Mount Tabor and Old Todds Road were temporarily closed while the respective scenes were investigated by police.
