Two Lexington Police officers slightly injured making arrest

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) – Two Lexington Police officers suffered minor injuries late Thursday afternoon while making an arrest.

Police say the officers approached a vehicle suspected of drug activity in the Super 8 hotel parking lot on Buena Vista Road around 5:15 p.m.

Investigators say the man in the vehicle, 31-year old Tyler Warner, tried to run away and fought with the officers as they tried to arrest him.  Police say Warner was tazed and eventually taken into custody.

Both officers suffered minor injuries in the scuffle.  One of officers was taken to the hospital and was treated and released.

Tyler Warner was lodged in the Fayette County Detention Center facing the following charges:  Two counts of Assault 3rd Degree-Police Officer; Fleeing or Evading Police 2nd Degree (on foot); Trafficking in Marijuana – Less than 8-ounces 1st Offense; Possession of Drug Paraphernalia and Tampering with Physical Evidence, according to police.
