Two killed after truck hits tree
LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) – Two men are dead after their pickup truck slammed into a tree near a Lexington Road.
Lexington police say someone called at around 11:30 p.m. Wednesday to tell them they heard what sounded like a crash along Keene Road.
Police arrived to find a pickup on its top with two men trapped inside.
The Lexington Fire Department arrived to extricate the men from the truck.
The Fayette Co. Coroner says 21-yr-old Justin King and 21-yr-old James Wallace died on the scene.
Police say they believe the driver was going outbound on Keene Road when he left the roadway and hit a tree.
They say alcohol doesn’t appear to be a factor in the crash but say they aren’t sure if speed was involved.
