Two killed in Grayson County crash

GRAYSON COUNTY, Ky. (WTVQ)- Two people were killed and others were seriously injured on Western Kentucky Parkway Saturday, after an SUV flipped several times.

According to the Grayson County Sheriff’s Department, around 2:30 PM, 43-year-old Charles Martin of Benton was traveling eastbound when he left the road briefly, over-corrected, hit an embankment and then rolling multiple times into a ditch.

Police say none of the six people in the vehicle was wearing a seat belt.

Several people were ejected from the SUV, and according to police Martin was partially ejected.

Martin was pronounced dead at the scene and Melanie Wiles of Benton was transported to an area hospital, where she was later pronounced dead.

Three other passengers were airlifted to area hospitals with serious injuries.

Police continue to investigate the cause of the accident.
