Two former caregivers charged with abusing, neglecting adult

BENTON, Ky. (WTVQ) – Prosecutors say cellphone video has lead to charges against two former Kentucky caregivers.

According to the Kentucky Office of the Attorney General, 21-year-old Dallas Martin, of Hardin, and 23-year-old Anitra Gwyn, of Murray, are accused of abusing an adult.

The attorney general says Martin and Gwyn worked as caregivers at a Marshall County facility providing residential and day training services for individuals with mental and/or physical disabilities.

The two are accused of improperly restraining a man at the facility.

According to prosecutors, Martin yelled at the man as Gwyn sat on the man’s back while he was on his stomach on the floor.

The incident was captured cellphone video.

Prosecutors say there was also a picture taken by cellphone of another incident where Gwyn sitting on the man’s back while he was on the floor.

Martin was arraigned Wednesday.

Gwyn is scheduled to be arraigned March 6, 2019.
