LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) — Police say a traffic stop Monday night shut down New Circle Road for 30 minutes and lead to two felony arrests.

According to police, detectives were tracking a car that they believed felony suspects were driving just before 9 p.m.

They say they followed the car for several minutes and pulled the car over just after 9 p.m., on the inner loop of New Circle just prior to Tates Creek Road.

Due to the nature of the suspects’ warrants, officers conducted a felony stop, but the suspects refused to get out of the car.

Police say they shut down New Circle Road for 30 minutes while they negotiated with the two suspects, who eventually gave themselves up.

Police say they arrested two men on the scene, but they have not yet been identified.

Police also say the suspects were armed.
